The C. C. Mellor Memorial Library and Edgewood Community House is a vital community resource. True to the vision of its founding fathers it has served as a center for civic, cultural, social, recreational and educational enrichment for the past 92 years. Today, more than 22,600 residents in the communities of Edgewood, Wilkinsburg, Braddock Hills, Churchill, Forest Hills, and Wilkins benefit from a library collection of 44,500 books, periodicals, and audio/video recordings, 19 public access computers, and a variety of educational, cultural, civic, social, and entertainment events sponsored by the library and other community and charitable organizations throughout the year. Some of these include lectures, computer classes, reading programs, Toastmaster's gatherings, theatrical productions, music and dance instruction, health & wellness programs, sports banquets and more.
